HOLD LUNCH HOURS DEMONSTRATION ON 23rd SEPTEMBER : CONDEMN THE ATTACK OF POLITICAL MISCREANTS ON DIVL. SECRETARY, Gr-C, TAMLUK DIVISION
Dear Comrades, In an unprecedented incident on 21.9.2010, our Group-C Divisional Secretary, Tamluk Division, Com. Sirshendu Sundar Sahoo has been threatened and physically assaulted by some goons locally known as Trinamool Congress workers.
The divisional FNPO was holding a deputation program at the office of the Supdt. of P.O.s, Tamluk Division on that day. At about 5:30 P.M., they made the way to some outsiders well-known in the area as Trinamool Congress workers. They intruded the room of the SPOs accompanied by the FNPO leaders and tortured the SPOs to act as per the demand of FNPO. On their way back, the FNPO leaders identified Com. Sahoo (working as O.A., Divl ofice) as the leader of NFPE and instantly they attacked him. They openly used slang to Com. Sahoo and then physically assaulted him. All the staff of Divisional office, taken by shock for first few moments, spontaneously protested and recovered Com. Sahoo from them. Our Divisional Union has demanded from the Supdt. to file an F.I.R. against these outsiders and also to initiate suitable disciplinary action against the FNPO leaders who paved the way of the incident and brought in political interference.
Comrades, the Circle Union is not surprised by this incident, rather we hold that the way democracy is attacked daily in the state by the power of anarchy supported by the media and a section of so-called intellectuals, this is going to be a regular phenomenon, unless it is resisted by the unity of the Working Class.
Therefore, Circle Unions jointly call upon entire postal fraternity to hold lunch-hour demonstration on 23 September 2010 condemning the attack and this politics in our peaceful state. Few divisions observed it on 22nd. Rest please ensure it today with maximum possible campaigning and involvement of postal employees irrespective of cadre or colour. Please see that the news reaches every single staff even if he/she is unable to participate in the program. Our unity is our strength.
