     All Branch/Divn Secretaries (in and around Kolkata) are requested to take serious efforts to ensure huge garthering in said demonstration to make it grand success.

Cuba's former president Fidel Castro,  world's longest-serving and most iconic and anti imperialist revolutionary leader, died yesterday at his age of 90.

Instructions regarding the wedding expenses withdrawal in DOP

Instructions to be communicated regarding the wedding expenses withdrawal  are given below for  circulation as directed:
For wedding expenses, the Government has allowed withdrawal limit as Rs.250000-. Patch for the same is being deployed in Finacle.

As per RBI guidelines / DoP rulings, the officials should check all the relevant documents and obtain the declarations from the customer requesting for withdrawal from their POSB account in connection with wedding expenses.

The following conditions are mandatory for withdrawal in respect of wedding expenses:
KYC documents should have been submitted for the account; PAN card should have been updated. These checks are done on the CIF of account holder.

The maximum withdrawal allowed is  Rs.250000 or the closing balance of the account as on 08/11/2016, whichever is lesser and subject to the minimum balance limits applicable on the account. ( Rs.50 for non-cheque accounts and Rs.500 for cheque accounts)

User has to  select / enter the report code as WEDLM against transaction report code field in CTM / HTM menu for such transactions.​​

SBCO is advised to monitor the high value withdrawals at all the POs under their control. Report on such transactions can be generated using HFTR / HFTI menu with the Report Code field filled as WEDLM, on daily basis.

Blood Donation Camp at Kolkata GPO under the banner of Kolkata Zone

    Today (25.11.2016), the Blood Donation Camp organised at Kolkata GPO under the banner of Kolkata Zone. The Camp was start at 11.30 AM. The Inaugural session of blood donation camp presided by Com Chittaranjan Dutta, leader R-III, The camp inaugurated by Com Janardan Majumdar, Dy General Secretary (CHQ) & President P3, W B Circle. He nicely described the importance of blood donation specially when there is crisis of blood under severe attack of "Dangue". Amongst other, Com Sanatan Das, Circle Secretary P4, Com Sanjib Barua, Circle Secretary, SBCO, Com Bibhas Ghara, Asstt. Financial Secretary P3, Com Aparesh Lahiri, Circle Secretary R3, Com Sanjoy Chakraborty, Circle Secretary R4, Com Sachidanand Biswas, Vice President P3, Com Prosenjit Saha, leader R3, Com Satyendra Singh, Secretary, PCCS, Com Swati Ray Bera, Orgn. Secretary, CGCC, Com Manoj Shaw, Financial Secretary P3, Com Jayanta Malakar, Divn Secretary, North Kolkata and Com Amit Das, Asstt. Divn Secretary, Central Kolkata delivered their speech. The Anchorman of this program is Com Sambhunath Chakraborty, Divn Secretary Kolkata GPO. 74 donors including 10 women donors donated their blood in this camp.

Condolence Meeting of Our beloved leader Com Dipen Ghosh…...

          The Co-ordination Committee of Central Govt. Employees' and Workers' Union and Association, 12th July Committee and BSNL Co-ordination Committee, West Bengal jointly orgainsed a condolence meeting of our beloved leader Com Dipen Ghosh at Moulali Yuba Kendra, Kolkata - 700 014 on 24.11.2016. Com. Janardan Majumdar, President CGCC, Com Anup Chakraborty, leader 12th July Committee and  Com Aash mohamad Khan, President BSNL Co-ordination Committee presided over the meeting. General Secretaries  / Eminent Trade Union leadership were present in the condolence meeting. Garlanding on his photograph and observing silence in his memory, the program started. 
          Com. Deepak Dasgupta, General Secretary, CITU, West Bengal made his remembering speech on Com Dipen Ghosh. He described Com Dipen Ghosh as a good, bravo leader having clear class consciousness. Amongst others, Com Pijush Roy, General Secretary, CGCC, Com. Sibsankar Roy, Vice Presient (CHQ), Pensioner Co-ordination Committee, Com Sisir Bhattacharya, Joint Convenor, 12th July Committee and others trade union leaders. 
          Condolence meeting ended with this commitment that we will follow Com Dipen Ghosh while building up our organization while in the field of our continuous struggle.

The condolence meeting will be started at 5.30 PM. All the eminent leaders of trade union movemnet will present in the meeting. 
      All Branch/Divn Secretary (in and around Kolkata) are requested to ensure huge gathering in the condolence meeting.

Midnapore Zonal Committee Meeting

    Today, Midnap0re Zonal Committee Meeting held at Bankura Banda Vidyalaya Under Bankura Divn. Bankura Division arranged the meeting nicely. 
After hoisting Red Flag of NFPE and garlanding at the maryrs' column, meeting started at abount 12 PM. Com Dilip Soren, President P3, Midnapore Divn, Com Mans Pradhan, Orgn Secretary P4, Circle, Com Satyakinkar Mahato, Orgn Secretary GDS, Circle  and Com Arun Bhattacharya, Asstt. Circle Secretary, PWU presided over the meeting. Com Annwesha Biswas, Circle Secretary P3, W B Circle inaugurated the meeting explaining the reason and importance of this meeting. Representative of all the branch/divn of this zone except Tamluk Division attended the meeting. Circle leadership Com Sanatan Das, Circle Secretary P4, Com Ashish Halder, President, GDS Union, W B Circle, Com Manoj Shaw, Financial Secretary P3, W B Circle, Com Abhijit Banerjee, orgn Secretary, GDS Union, W B Circle, Com Bharat Bauri, Asstt. Circle Secretary P4, W B Circle and Com Ajit Rana, Asstt. Circle Secretary P3, W B Circle were present in the meeting. Amongst them Com Sanatam Das and Com Manoj Shaw delivered their speech. 
     Draft report was submitted by Com Ajit Rana and Com Bharat Bhauri,  Joint Convenor of this zone and Secretaries and Comrades of all the branch/divn took part in discussion. The basic points which were discussed in the meeting are as :-- 1) Review of 2nd Sept.'16 all India Strike. 2) Impact of proposed and finally withdrawn Strike on 9 - 10 Nov.'16 at the call of Postal JCA on GDS/Part time issues. 3) Latest position of membership. 4) Different organizational program -- our role (Success/failures). 5) Attack of administration (on service/staff) -- our role (success/failures). 6) Timely disposal of posters/journals and remittance of Quota and dues to higher bodies. 7) Ensuing program of Confederation including March to Parliament on 15th Dec.'16. 
     Com Ajit Rana, joint convenor of this zone and Com Annwesha Biswas, Circle Secretary P3 have given the reply on the points/questions arise by brach/divn. Finally, Zonal Committee took decission ---- intergrating our sucess and deleting our failures/short comings, We will strengthen our zone and circle organisation as a whole.   
 Some decisions taken in the zonal meeting. 1) A proposal has been taken to hold stay in program at Circle Office (Yogayog Bhawan) at the call of NFPE (including PWU). 2) To intensify program at branch/divn level against anti employees activities of Local Authority.
