One of the prominent leaders of yesteryears' postal movement of West Bengal, Com. Parimalananda Dey Bhowmick has passed away yesterday at his daughter's residence at Dumdum. He was 96.

Com. Dey Bhowmick joined erstwhile Department of Posts & Telegraph in Dinajpur Division of undivided Bengal (before partition). Later he moved to different parts of the Circle, served in Central Kolkata Division (Park Street H.O.) and retired from North Kolkata Division as the SPM, Ghughudanga S.O.

He was the Divl Secretary of East Kolkata Group-C Union and later President there. He also discharged the responsibilities as the Assistant Circle Secretary and Treasurer of  Group-C Circle Union, West Bengal. The Circle Unions felicitated him for his inspiring contribution to the organisation on 27th October 2013 during the open session of last Circle Conference in Central Kolkata Division.
